Christmas 2008

We had a quiet Christmas Eve and Day at home this year. Dave was off work both days, which was a treat. The kids got pretty spoiled, but I guess that's ok. We got lots of new electronics, including a Wii from Grandma and Grandpa Biron, which is really fun for all of us. Jordan and Connor got golf clubs, with hopes of doing lots of golfing with their Dad this spring and summer. We went to the movies on Christmas night and saw "Bedtime Stories" with Adam Sandler. It was great, a really good family outing, for anyone thinking about it! We hope you all had great holidays as well and wish you a Happy New Year!

The boys anticipating opening their gifts -- Max looks pretty cheesey.

Megan with her "Bratz" and Kyle with his Lego Star Wars game. Jordan with her new cell phone -- she was really surprised with this, and it has a full keyboard which means even faster text messaging - oh joy!
This is pretty much what the kids looked like for several hours after opening presents, so I guess they're all plugged in and I don't want to hear "I'm bored" for at least a day and a half!

1st Snow of the season....

Just wanted to document this.. OCTOBER 10th -- that's got to be some kind of record.
Goodbye to my flowers!

Second Place isn't so bad after all.....

We went to Connor's Football Banquet and Awards Night yesterday. It was fun to see him so happy with his trophies, one for Conference Champions and the other for Super Bowl Runners-Up. I took a few pictures, although it was really dark in the event's complex.
Here are the big studs -- the sixth graders. Connor is obviously goofing off and hamming it up. When Connor gets silly, there's no turning back!

The Super Bowl came early this year....

Connor's team won the "AFC Championship" game last week against the "Colts" and met the "Cowboys" (WYOMING Cowboys -- not Dallas!) at the Super Bowl on Saturday. It was a cold and rainy day, but the kids were pumped up and excited as they rode down the streets in the back of the coach's truck with their banner on the side. The parents drove in a caravan behind them up to the park.
They announced each player by name individually since it was the big game, and the sixth grader's last.
The co-captains meet in the middle of the field for a pre-game handshake and coin toss. (Connor is #92)

It was a very close game and the score was 6 - 6 at halftime. Despite all their efforts and a good game, the Broncos lost 26 - 12. Connor was definately disappointed but it was a really good experience for him to be on this team and be coached well. We look forward to watching him next year in Jr. High!
